  Batteries for Ammunition Fuzes: The battery or power cell is the device which generates the voltage to allow the electronics of the fuzing mechanism to work. The functionality of the battery is quite simple. It is placed inside the projectile, electrically linked to the Electronic Head of the fuze, and remains inert until the moment of the shooting.

The enormous force generated by the propulsive charge, makes that, inside the battery, the electrolyte liquid be liberated, and, by virtue of the centrifugal force of rotation of the projectile, be distributed uniformly over the wall, where the electrodes are located.
The battery can be made of several segments, to be able to provide different levels of voltage up to a maximum of 90 Volts DC.

The battery is capable to provide these voltages at a constant level for the required time to detonation, even for a projectile who misses the target. Laboratory tests have measured stable nominal voltages for periods of time up to 180 seconds. 		 
CSA designs and manufactures batteries for different ammunition fuzes.
Additionally, the necessity to combine two forces, rotational and axial, for the correct activation of the device, makes it specially safe, avoiding accidental explosion due to careless manipulation or transport.
